What to do in le Havre |
- The ‘Malraux’ Musée des Beaux-Arts houses a collection of art that spans five centuries. The extent of its collection of Impressionist paintings is second only to the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
- Le Havre is one of the greenest cities in France and has a wealth of parks and gardens to explore. Take a guided tour of The Japanese Garden which covers 2000m² and was created to mark the twinning of the ports of Le Havre and Osaka. In the very heart of the city centre are the Saint-Roch gardens, the Montgeon forest (which also houses a large tropical greenhouse open to the public) and Rouelles Park with 150 hectares of woodland, meadows and 20km of footpaths.
- A short 500m walk from the centre of town is the 2km-long sandy beach with its promenade. The resort proudly displays its two European blue flags for the quality and safety of the water.
- A large number of restaurants and snack bars can be found in Le Havre offering a great place to dine while overlooking the sea. Further afield there are plenty of places to visit including the nearby resorts of Deauville, Dives-sur-Mer, Bayeux and Caen making this an ideal destination for a short break or a longer stay.
